Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Christian Initiation of Adults is a process for forming and welcoming new members into the Catholic Church. It is also the process by which adults who are baptized Catholic, but have never been catechized (taught the faith) and have not received the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist or Confirmation can learn the faith and complete the sacraments of initiation. It is a process of conversion that is community based, emphasizing faith formation by catechesis and opening and explaining the Scriptures . This process (called RCIA) is also for Christians baptized in non-Catholic Christian communities who are seeking reception into full communion with the Church.  Any person interested in this process should contact the parish office at 858-271-0207

Sacrament of Baptism

Information packets are available from the Parish Office. Baptisms are celebrated on Sunday after the 12:15 p.m. Mass. Parents who want their children baptized at Good Shepherd must be registered parishioners for at least 3 months and then attend a preparation class before the Baptism.

Sacrament of Confirmation

For teenagers seeking the sacrament of Confirmation, please visit our Faith Formation web page, or call the parish office and ask to speak with Pat Clasby. 

For adults seeking the sacrament of Confirmation, please call the front office to sign up for classes.

Sacrament of Marriage

Information packets are available in the Parish Office. Please make arrangements with a priest at least nine months before wedding date. Couples are required to attend preparatory programs.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

We encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity for confession on Saturdays from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Other times by appointment.

Sacrament of the Sick / Ministry to the Sick

Please notify the Parish Office if a family member or friend is ill or in the hospital so we can arrange for a priest or a Eucharistic minister to visit.
