Good Shepherd Catholic School

home philosophy our mission curriculum office

Good Shepherd Catholic School, established in 1982, is a coeducational elementary school with an enrollment of over 300 students. The dedication of administration, faculty and staff, along with the cooperation and support of parents, promotes a community of faith that recognizes the uniqueness of each child.

Since it's founding, Good Shepherd Catholic School has earned a reputation as the area's finest Catholic School with strong academics, a well established athletic and extracurricular program, a strong Christian community, and most importantly, students who are leaders in their studies and in their communities.

What began as a dream in the hearts and minds of many parents, became a reality, when upon the approval of the Bishop of the San Diego Diocese, Good Shepherd Catholic School was established in 1982. The school began with grades one through three, grades four and five were added in 1983. A new grade was added each following year until the school reached its goal to serve students in grades Kindergarten through Eight.

Depending entirely upon tuition and fund-raising for support, the school has managed to remain financially self-sustaining.

We are a community of excellence. Our enrollment has increased steadily with the addition of each new grade. At present we maintain a five year waiting list for Kindergarten and a current year waiting list for grades one through eight. More than 85% of our graduated attend Catholic High Schools. A third of our graduates enter high school with honors. Our students score above the national and local average on standardized tests.
